IN-STORE PURCHASE POLICY & PRODUCT CARE GUIDE

This policy applies to all transactions made at any Campo Marzio physical store in South Africa.

 

Returns & Exchanges

  • Returns & exchanges are only accepted with:

    • The original invoice

    • The product in its original condition

    • All undamaged packaging

  • Exchanges only within 30 days of purchase.

  • Exchanges must be done at the store of purchase.

  • No returns or exchanges on:

    • Sale or discounted items

    • Branded, corporate, or specially manufactured products

    • Items past their 30-day return period

 

Refund Policy

  • Goodwill refunds must be requested within 10 days of purchase and are subject to a handling fee (up to 10%).

  • Refunds are only processed in-store at the original store of purchase.

  • Refunds are processed via EFT only and may take up to 7 working days.

  • Refunds are processed Monday–Friday (09:00–17:00) only. Not available on weekends or public holidays.

  • No refunds on:

    • Gift cards or voucher purchases

    • Gift purchases

    • Sale, discounted, corporate, branded or specially manufactured items

  • Refunds will only be made to the original purchaser due to fraud-prevention measures.

Product Guarantee

  • All regular-priced items come with a 6-month guarantee under the Consumer Protection Act.

  • No additional guarantees apply.

  • This guarantee excludes:

    • Sale or discounted goods

    • Normal wear and tear

    • Paintwork, lacquer, clips on pens, pen nibs

    • Scratches, dents, cracks, or misuse

    • Refills or ink cartridges

    • PU, Eco, or genuine leather if scratched, peeled, discoloured, or torn

    • Damage caused by improper care or prolonged storage

  • If a product qualifies under guarantee:

    • We will first attempt repair via an approved service provider.

    • If repair is not feasible, we will offer a replacement of similar value, depending on current availability.

  • Exact item replacement is not guaranteed.

  • We do not offer or conduct in-house repairs.

  • For out-of-warranty items, we suggest reputable leather repair businesses (at your own risk).

​General Care
  • Clean only when necessary using a soft, damp microfibre cloth and mild hand soap (sensitive skin formula).

  • Avoid:

    • Household cleaners, sanitisers, alcohol-based products

    • Rubbing, scratching, or abrasive sponges

  • Pen or ink marks are permanent and cannot be removed.

  • Products must be stored properly:

    • In a cool, dry place, away from sunlight or heat

    • Avoid tightly sealed or humid conditions

    • Use dust bags or original packaging where possible

⚠️ Prolonged storage may cause items to dry out, become brittle, or result in peeling of colour or surface coating.

Pens
  • Clean using only a soft damp cloth—no chemicals.

  • Store in a protective pen case to prevent lacquer scratches.

  • Lacquer scratches may lead to peeling and paint damage.

  • Avoid use during flights; pens may leak under pressure or heat.

PU, Eco-Leather & Genuine Leather
  • PU and Eco-leather are irreparable if damaged.

  • Avoid overloading bags; weight limit: 8 kg.

  • Store all leather products away from heat or sun to prevent peeling, discolouration, or drying.

  • Leather will naturally darken over time or when exposed to moisture.

  • Note: Many genuine leather items may contain man-made materials such as PU or faux leather (e.g. piping or inner lining). These parts require similar care and are also vulnerable to damage.

✋ Misuse, overloading, or improper care will void the guarantee.

Lay-By Policy

  • Lay-bys are available in-store only and by application.

  • Only valid on current, in-stock items.

  • Lay-bys are valid for 60 days.

  • A 10% cancellation fee applies if the agreement is breached or cancelled.

  • Lay-bys can only be paid for via card (including deposit).

  • Items remain property of Campo Marzio until full payment is received.

  • Notice of cancellation must be sent via email: admin@campomarzio.co.za.

  • Refunds for cancelled lay-bys will be processed via EFT (allow up to 7 working days).

Corporate & Large Orders (B2B)

  • Require a 50% deposit before processing.

  • Gift Wrapping: R10 per item after 10 items. Must be requested in advance.

  • Shopping bags not included in quotes unless requested.

  • Branding available for large production orders only (MOQ & 70-day lead time). Vector logos required.

  • No returns or exchanges on:

    • Corporate orders

    • Branded items

    • Specially manufactured or discounted goods

Disclaimers

  • Use and clean products at your own risk.

  • Our use of “leather” may refer to genuine or man-made materials. “Eco-leather” means PU/faux leather. “Genuine leather” refers to animal-derived hide.

  • Campo Marzio is not liable for:

    • Damages caused by incorrect storage or misuse

    • Defects arising from cleaning with non-recommended methods

    • Delays caused by payment processing or delivery services

  • We strive for accuracy in all content and descriptions, but errors and omissions excepted (E&OE).

Warnings

  • Keep products away from direct heat or sunlight.

  • Pens may leak under pressure or heat—avoid use on flights.

  • Keep pens and small items out of reach of children.

  • Refills/inks may be flammable and are not for ingestion.

  • Dispose of all products responsibly and eco-consciously.
